Bio
I am Leona Hoffmann, a PhD student in the field of biostatistics and environmental health with a solid foundation in mathematics (B.Sc.) and statistical science (M.Sc.).
Current Role
Currently, I serve as a PhD student at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), where I am working at a DFG funded project dealing with the association between environmental stressors and COVID-19 incidence.
Areas of Expertise
My expertise lies in several key areas of statistics. In my current statistical analysis I am using generalized additive models with splines and markov random fields.
Vision for the Future
In my PhD project I want to investigate the associations between environmental stressors and COVID-19 incidence by using multiple stressors, a three year’s time period and spatiotemporal data. I want to extend my analysis to Brazil aggregated data, individual German data and
