Bio

I am Mathilde Letard, a postdoctoral researcher in the field of Remote Sensing with a solid foundation in Machine and Deep Learning for Earth Observation. My professional journey began at the University of Rennes, where I earned my PhD degree in statistics and modelling for geosciences. There, I worked within the Lidar Platform of the Earth Sciences and Astronomy Observatory and researched deep learning solutions for lidar data processing.

Current Role

Currently, I serve as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Technical University of Munich, within the Chair of Remote Sensing Applications of the Department of Aerospace and Geodesy, where I work on developing new methods for 4D data processing. I am dedicated to enhancing the processing and exploitation of 3D+time datasets for environmental monitoring purposes.

Areas of Expertise

My expertise lies in several key areas of Remote Sensing, including Machine Learning and Deep Neural Networks, lidar remote sensing, and 3D point clouds and time series exploitation.

Vision for the Future

In the future, I would like to exploit my experience with 3D point clouds and time series to enhance 4D datasets processing for topographic dynamics analysis and provide solutions to better understand environmental changes, their relationship with climate change, and their trends of evolution.
