Bio

I am Valeria Pia Vevoto a graduate student in Electronical engineering for automation and telecommunication. I earned my bachelor’s degree at the University of Sannio in Benevento in 2024. In the period March-June I had a joint research activity at the Φ-lab of the ESA/ESRIN as a Visiting Researcher for my thesis activities.

Current Role

Currently, I am a student at the University of Sannio in Benevento.

Areas of Expertise

My expertise lies in several key areas of Machine Learning, including sensors, electronics, IoT, Data Science and Remote Sensing. In the visiting research activities at Φ-lab I used my following expertise: electronics competence for implementing three new sensors; for IoT I developed a software in the ESA-AQP 222 for receiving sensor values and to send that data to ESA webserver. For the remote sensing I compare the Sentinel-5P data with in-situ data (ARPA and AQP 222) and for Machine Learning I developed a Machine Learning algorithms using the Catboost library to verify the ability to reconstruct the correlation between the change in average nitrogen dioxide values in 2024 over the Rome area detected by Arpa and Sentinel-5P stations.

Vision for the Future

This visiting research activities at Φ-lab will help me for the student activities and for work activities in the Space field and Remote Sensing.
