Bio
I am Lot van Neerbos, a Master’s student in Applied Mathematics at Delft University of Technology, specialising in Computational Science and Engineering. Currently, I am conducting my graduation project at ESA Φ-lab, focusing on high-resolution solar surface irradiance mapping using Sentinel-2 imagery and machine learning-based super-resolution models.
Areas of Expertise
My expertise lies in Machine Learning for Earth Observation, with a focus on cloud height estimation and solar irradiance mapping. I also have experience in High-performance Computing and modelling, which enables me to scale EO workflows efficiently.
Vision for the Future
I am motivated by the vision of a future where accurate, high-resolution Earth Observation data supports sustainable energy systems and climate resilience. My long-term goal is to advance methods that bridge physics and AI, enabling EO data to make a stronger impact on society’s energy transition and environmental challenges. In the near future, I aim to finalise my first research paper in September and will continue my journey at ESA ESTEC from October 2025 as an intern, further strengthening my expertise in AI and EO for climate applications.
