Bio
Konrad Schindler holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science (2003) and is a Professor of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing at ETH Zurich, a position he has held since 2010. His career includes roles in photogrammetric and GIS engineering at ARGE Digitalplan in Graz, research positions at Graz University of Technology and ETH Zurich, and postdoctoral research at Monash University. Prior to joining ETH Zurich, he served as Assistant Professor of Computer Science at TU Darmstadt.
Area of Expertise
His expertise spans Earth observation, remote sensing, photogrammetry, computer vision, visual AI, and geo-AI, with a focus on extracting geospatial information from large-scale imagery and sensor data.

Professor Schindler envisions a future in which Earth observation data is automatically transformed into actionable geoinformation in near real time.
