Bio
Elouann Lucas is a student at the University of South Brittany in the MSc Copernicus in Digital Earth Program. He holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from IUT of Vannes. His current interests include AI edge computing and deep learning applications for Earth observation. His master's thesis focuses on onboard AI for Earth observation satellites.
Areas of Expertise
His expertise lies in several areas within computer science and data science, including machine learning, application development, and big data. He has a solid foundation in software engineering principles and practical experience working with data-driven systems.
Vision for the Future
Elouann aims to contribute to a future where small AI models are deployed at the edge, close to the data of interest and the applications they support. He believes onboard AI is the next step in Earth observation, enabling satellites to make decisions autonomously without relying solely on manual processing. This advancement would accelerate workflows and support faster decision-making in time-critical situations such as disaster management.
