Bio
David Șeu is a professional in the field of Digital Soil Mapping with a strong foundation in Artificial Intelligence and Remote Sensing. He began his academic journey at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, where he earned a degree in Computer Science. Using his technical background and interest in agricultural systems, he founded CO2 Angels, a startup working at the intersection of agronomy, pedology, and Earth Observation.
Current Role
David currently serves as the CEO of CO2 Angels, where he leads and collaborates with the team to drive innovation toward resilient agricultural systems. His work focuses on developing Earth Observation solutions that help farmers reduce costs and increase yields through data-driven soil insights.
Areas of Expertise
His expertise spans Digital Soil Mapping, Artificial Intelligence, Remote Sensing, and Soil Science. These specialisations enable him to develop and model soil nutrient maps that support farmers in monitoring soil health and optimising inputs. This experience can contribute to ESA Φ-lab’s Collaborative Innovation Network by exploring future EO-based soil-monitoring approaches and supporting pathways for turning them into commercial agricultural solutions.
Vision for the Future
David is driven by a vision of resilient and sustainable agriculture supported by AI-powered Earth Observation tools that deliver actionable soil insights. His long-term ambition is to advance the integration of foundation models and spatio-temporal EO data, enabling scalable and cost-efficient soil monitoring across Europe and beyond.
