Bio
I am a researcher in the field of environmental systems and agentic-AI decision-making, with a solid foundation in geoscience and climate science. My academic journey began at the University of Toronto, where I earned a BSc in Geoscience (specialist) with a minor in Climatology. During this time, I investigated the physical impacts of climate change across sectors such as energy, agriculture, glaciology, and oceanography. I hold a Geoscientist-in-Training (GIT) license and have remained committed to applying scientific understanding to real-world environmental challenges.
Current Role
I am pursuing a PhD in Engineering Science at the University of Oxford, affiliated with the Intelligent Earth Centre for Doctoral Training in Artificial Intelligence for the Environment. My research focuses on integrating Earth Observation data with Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) techniques to enable adaptive planning and optimisation in complex environmental systems—particularly in the energy sector. As a visiting researcher with the ESA Φ-lab, I am developing DRL-based control and planning models that enhance decision-making processes for power grids, including resource allocation, resilience forecasting, and sustainable infrastructure development.
Areas of Expertise
My expertise lies in several key areas of environmental systems modelling and machine learning, including: Deep Reinforcement Learning, Earth Observation Data Integration, and Adaptive Control and Planning for Infrastructure.
These specializations enable me to model complex system dynamics and support data-driven decision-making in high-stakes environmental contexts. This expertise directly aligns with the ESA Φ-lab CIN’s goals by contributing scalable AI-based methods that improve the resilience and sustainability of Earth systems under stress.
Vision for the Future
Driven by a vision of a future where intelligent systems support environmental resilience and equitable resource management, I am committed to developing AI tools that enable proactive and sustainable responses to climate and energy challenges. My long-term goal is to bridge scientific research and applied decision-making to support systems that adapt effectively to environmental change.
