Bio
I am an oceanographer interested in machine learning and artificial intelligence applied to Earth observation. My professional journey began at Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, where I earned my degree in Oceanography. With my skills, I have contributed to Fractal Engenharia e Sistemas for almost 5 years, working on hydrological modeling and software development, contributing to a system that has already helped save lives during extreme events in southern Brazil.
Current Role
Now, I am pursuing my Master’s degree in GeoData Science within the Copernicus in Digital Earth Erasmus program, in a partnership between the Paris-Lodron University of Salzburg (Austria) and Université Bretagne Sud (France), where I am building a strong basis in machine learning applied to Earth Observation. This program has been instrumental in pursuing my interest in using remote sensing data and machine learning techniques to study coastal and marine processes.
Areas of Expertise
Currently, I am developing my Master’s thesis in collaboration with the Φ-lab, focusing on Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs) for subsurface ocean reconstruction.
Vision for the Future
Looking ahead, I aim to explore additional geospatial technologies to support sustainable ocean management and address climate-related challenges, making a meaningful real-world impact.
